My state is South Carolina where both online and mail voter registration are offered, over and above, in person registration. One must register to vote before Election Day in the state. The rules for voter registration include: one must be an American citizen, at least 18 years old before or on the Election Day, be a resident of the precinct and county in which they are registering, claim the address stipulated on the application as their only legal place of residence and no other place, and not have been declared mentally incompetent by any court order (Ballotpedia, 2018). The voter registree must not be incarcerated in any public prison after being convicted of a crime and never have been convicted of an offense against elections. Persons who have been convicted of a felony must have served the entire sentence (including parole and probation) or must have being pardoned for the conviction before registering.
