Conservatism is a broad system of political ideologies in the United States that supports moral universalism, republicanism, American traditions, and Judeo-Christian values, among other things. Like all other major parties in the United States, with conservatism, liberty is a fundamental value. However, unlike the liberalism that supports government action to accomplish equality and equal opportunity for all, conservatives consider personal liberty within the bounds of American values as a crucial trait of true democracy. Some people and institutions have benefited from the contemporary laws and policies that have been introduced by conservatives in the United States.
Conservatives contend that individuals should be admitted to school or employed based on their abilities and not their skin color, and thus, they do not support Affirmative Action. They indicate that reverse-discrimination is not the answer to racism experienced in the country and indicate that it is not that America is a racist society, but only some individuals are racists.
