Abstract
Police brutality has always been a controversial issue across America and worldwide. In the early days, protests were sparked off by the poor laborers who saw the police as an arm of the government meant to harass them. Today police brutality has been associated with the use of excessive force by law enforcement when making arrests. This paper addresses the issue of police brutality while providing some views shared by experts. It also provides some recommendations that can be implemented to help solve the problem of police brutality. Moreover, it gives some of the reasons associated to the vice and some of the factors that contribute to its existence.
Introduction
Ever since time in memorial, the police have been known to take advantage of the power granted to them by law. Due to this, several people have come out to speak against this vice hence bringing it to public attention. Police officers feel that they can commit murders and often get away with it. This is done through the excessive use of power to make an arrest. Many videos have surfaced on the internet showing exactly how police misuse the authority granted to them.
