In order to ensure that the rule of law is upheld, more intricate details about the population and the evolving nature of crime have been looked into. Looking at how criminals evolve, is quite important to note that they tend to display certain criminal tendencies right from the onset. Identifying such tendencies early enough can be the difference between correction and punishment.  An important element of crime is the analysis of chronic offenders. Chronic offenders are the epitome of crime itself, and by having a keen look at them, preventing certain acts can be done early enough. Chronic Offenders A chronic offender is a person who has several criminal cases or convictions that are spread over time and over several areas. According to Anderson (2017), it is hard to gauge an offender’s extent of criminal behavior. In other terms, it is rather difficult to predict how far an offender can go when it comes to committing crime. The good thing however, is that these individuals can easily be tracked and their development through the various stages of life mapped. From their growth curves, it becomes easy to pick out the red flags that highlight as criminal tendencies for these individuals. Chronic offenders are quite interesting, with personalities that can easily confuse those around them while also act as a cover to the underlying real self. Siegel (2018) notes that a chronic offender can sometimes start out as a very friendly and charming individual, always welcoming and warm to everyone. The person can however change in an instant, and become quite dangerous and violent. While looking at how these individuals commit crime, more focus is placed upon the number of bookings, convictions and how these are spread over various jurisdictions. It is often typical to find chronic offenders having committed several criminal acts spread across several legal jurisdictions. For the justice department, such things come with a lot of inquiries to make between one legal team to the other. Identifying Chronic Offenders             Identification of chronic offenders and their tendencies from an early stage can help the police and the larger criminal justice field to come up with measures to handle these cases. Chronic offenders often come across as normal people as earlier noted. A closer look at their personalities is what then reveals much of what lies under.
