Technology has streamlined business today. A majority of companies, especially technology companies, have transferred a significant percentage of their operations online. However, with such developments come the risk of exposure to criminals looking to intercept transactions, steal information, or hold organizations at ransom. Malicious attacks against companies are on the rise, and it is important for us to adopt measures that will help us avoid becoming perennial victims of cyber-attacks. Therefore, as a company, we would like to transition to a 2-factor authentication for all IT equipment access. We believe that this transition will help prevent ease of access to company equipment. Provided herein is a policy change that ought to be in effect immediately to help secure the company’s resources.
What is 2-Factor Authentication?
The 2-factor authentication is simply the addition of an extra layer of security where users are expected to provide an extra authentication (Rosencrance, Loshin, & Cobb, 2021). For example, after providing one’s password, a user will be expected to provide a pin number that will be sent to their phone, or a user will be expected to answer a personal question.

We need the 2-factor authentication process because it helps to enhance the security of the company’s IT equipment.
