Answer 1
The article titled "The International Regime of Treating Civil War, 1988-2017" authored by Richard Gowan and Stephen Stedman is a scholarly journal found online and published in 2018. The article unfolds the UN's effort to push the narrative of peace-making as a standard treatment for the Civil War. The purpose is to settle the conflicts relating to that historical event. However, in concluding parts, the researchers argue how this new narrative is unnecessary, as well as unacceptable. As the argument goes, the lessons learned from the Civil War and the noble cause attached to it may continue to hold value despite a few drawbacks and exceptions (Gowan & Stedman, 2018). Therefore, the revisited narrative seems flawed outright.
