The transformation of the American society after World War II was reflected from various human activities. There was an increase in population and this forced people to move to the suburbs. During this particular period, the suburbs were growing rapidly as a result of low costs of construction. In 1933 President Roosevelt delivered a speech stating the importance of banking in the economy. Franklin asserted that the success of any nation depends on the cooperation of the public and the use of reliable systems (Gerstle, 2017). After World War II the United States was committed to reducing public debt and improving the national economy. According to John (2015), it is stated that war bonds were used to reduce the inflation rate.
The most important thing was that the Americans accepted suburbanization as the main tool of economic and social development. John (2015) defines suburbanization as the shift of the local population from the dominant areas of the town to the suburbs. Increased migration rate, the emergence of the automobile age, and industrial growth were some of the reasons there was an increased rate of suburbanization. Increased rate of suburbanization in the United States led to an increase in economic development as a result of house sales (Gerstle, 2017). Additionally, a lot of African-Americans migrated from the south to north while Americans moved from the cities and rural areas to the suburbs. Life changed among the people especially the Americans because they were obliged to provide equal opportunities to everyone.
