I agree with you that the initial response should have been to stop the counselors from restraining the camper and placing him on his side to improve his breathing. Since he is already on medication, it would be crucial to prevent any further harm. Since the carbamazepine level is too high, it can lead to various side effects. This factor must be considered when determining how to respond to the patient. Panday et al. (2017) reveal a correlation between the dose and the drug's plasma level. In many cases, pharmacodynamic resistance, instead of pharmacokinetics, has resulted in the drug's lack of efficacy among epileptic patients.
In regards to Broad Spectrum AED, they are a good option as antiepileptic drugs. They are N-alkyl-[1, 1′-biphenyl]-2-sulfonamide derivatives and are a good option in cases of drug-resistant epilepsy (Tanaka et al., 2017). Many medications deal with seizures, depending on the frequency, age, type, and even lifestyle. Carbamazepine is the best option for treating seizures that arise in the temporal lobe of the brain. It can treat refractory, partial, and secondary seizures.
