The quality and safety of patients is a rudimental factor that should always be upgraded in the healthcare industry. It is why patient safety and quality guidelines were developed because they intend to provide professionals from the healthcare industry with a directive on the issue in question. Critical to the discussion is the fact that it may be necessary to change practices from the healthcare industry so that they could conform to the desired standards. For instance, Chassin, Mayer, and Nether (2015) argue that preventing responding to, and preparing for disasters is now everyone’s responsibility. This indicates that the healthcare industry should change its quality and safety practices, which will in turn improve the safety and quality of nurses when preparing for disasters and emergencies.
