The healthcare industry is consistently progressing. It has becoming more important for the healthcare organization to plan for strategies for the future to have a successful healthcare practice that is readily equipped in facing challenges and obstacles in the organization. Planning is necessary for managing not only the financial aspect of an organization but as well as the structural decisions within the healthcare facility.
In healthcare, strategic planning is fundamental in all aspects of the business for it to be efficient in running a practice in the long run. This involves establishing objectives for the organization, determining the goals, and formulate a plan to achieve the purposes of the healthcare company. In planning, it is essential to note the economic trends, advancement in technology, as well as the government policy concerning the healthcare industry to predict the operation’s significant changes. The steps in the planning process involve setting the objectives, situational analysis, alternatives and choice of goals and plans, evaluation and selection of purpose and intention, implementation, and lastly, monitoring and controlling by the healthcare organization managers to know the chosen strategies and if the result is achieved (Donev, D., Milevska-Kostova, N., & Galan, A., 2010).
