Disparities faced by the disabled
Disabled people are one of the priority populations (AHRQ, 2016). People with disabilities are likely to face delays while accessing health care besides failing to have the annual dental visit. Besides, disabled people are more likely to be left out during physical fitness activities and the majority of them suffer from obesity-related disorders, such as elevated blood pressure. Moreover, the disabilities experience the symptoms of the psychological distress as they are mainly left out during daily routine activities. As a result of the distress, a significant number of them use tobacco. Additionally, the disabled people usually have lower employment rates besides not having a mammogram or a pap test in the past two years (DREDF, 2013).
