Our practice as healthcare providers entails more than just caring for patients. A web of seemingly unrelated factors influences health institutions' operations. Healthcare delivery, employee diversity, and financing tightly interrelate and pillar each other (Oleribe et al., 2019). For successful operations, good leadership and economics are the mainstays of successful and quality healthcare.
Clinical exposure has enhanced my knowledge and understanding of how the systems operate. It has also helped me identify my strengths and weaknesses. My fellows and I were able to encounter an endemic crisis that led to an influx of patients into the hospitals. We found ourselves being delegated leadership roles in an attempt to manage the overwhelming situation. This duty needed critical thinking and decision-making. This proved to be a challenge to many as most needed to gain experience and ideas on handling the situation, unlike those in leadership positions (Purwanto et al., 2020)....
