In the recent past, there has been an increase in Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). There is accumulating evidence that nutritional deficiencies might be a contributing factor to this phenomenon. Fats make up most of our brain and nerves, and their reduced concentration can lead to neurological disorders such as Autism and ADHD. Omega-3 fatty acids provided by fish and fish supplements consumed by kids remains vital throughout their adolescence to adulthood life. Studies suggest that kids with low scores on behavioral valuation tests were considered to have low levels of omega-3 acids. When supplements have been introduced, the symptoms of ADHD, including hyperactivity, impulsiveness, and the lack of attention were found to have improved significantly.
Zinc is an essential co-factor element used by several neurotransmitters that have a direct effect on the mood and learning ability of an individual (SpectraCell Laboratories, 2013). Notably, zinc affects the production of dopamine in the brain, which is a feel-good chemical.
