Nursing practices around the globe face a common problem of nurse staffing. Nursing is a pivotal section in the medical branch as nurses take significant care of patients in the hospital. Nurse staffing is quite a significant act as it reduces burnouts in nurses from the extensive range of nursing activities. Hospitals that have poor staffing regularly offer poor services and do not attend to their patients in the required manner. The reason behind the argument is that most of the nursing activities are quite demanding, which can easily cause one to have burnouts. The paper gives a picot statement on the nursing problems that health centers with poor staffing face.
Population (P)
The population for the study were patients in the critical care unit. Using patients in the critical care units was good because the patients gave firsthand information that we collected in an attempt to know the effect of poor nurse staffing. Hospitals with staffing problems often give patients inadequate services mostly due to overworking and working burnout (Cox, Willis & Coustasse, 2014). The use of nurses and patients was important for the research as they have reliable and credible information on the subject in the study.
Intervention (I)
The intervention segment is quite important as it expounds on the way the researchers handled the population designated for the study. The patients in critical care responded without intimidation. The study involved family members from the recording and beside report. Besides, there was also the privacy of information where the respondents never wanted their names disclosed. Additionally, the section covered the subject of nursing intervention extensively.
