Ethics is a factor that is needed and should be well-maintained in any workplace and establishment. Especially in nursing, ethics is an essential part of working as they are always exposed to clinical issues that confront their nursing ethics. Responsibility and being accountable for one's actions are part of every nurse's ethics in all institutions (Bah & Sey-Sawo, 2018). Thus, people who are entering or are already part of medicine and even those who are eyeing other occupations should be aware and apply the code of ethics that is being thought of ever since the beginning of education.
Relationships with Patients
Nurses and patients are two people with a relationship that should be well-maintained and built with trust and respect. Nurses' roles are to take care of patients with their utmost best and disregarding their prejudices about cultures, races, beliefs, lifestyle, or sexual preference. Hemberg &Vilander (2017) disclosed that love and integrity are fundamentals in relationships that prioritize care since it disregards bias and promotes a healthy relationship. Communication is also considered a significant factor in establishing a relationship with the patients, and at the same time, information exchange is a vital part of constructing trust between the two. Also, King et al. (2019) stated in their study that how the patients are being treated also plays a big part in establishing a humane and trustful relationship. Being fed by medicine on time and having the ambiance of safety that surrounds the patient in the hospitals also increases the patients' satisfaction in the services of the nurses and creates a more stable relationship with them. As nurses, patients should be the number one priority in health care, especially when in the hospital. I will not judge my patients regardless of their background and prioritize their healing first and foremost.
