Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Communication
Introduction
Interpersonal communication is between two or more people in the same setup, while intrapersonal is communication between you and yourself. Interpersonal communication happens in different environments. On the other hand, intrapersonal happens continuously as human beings tend to think, evaluate, analyze and interpret things. From this perspective, intrapersonal communication is autonomous and independent. It does not require other parties to occur, and it can happen anywhere at no given time.
Conversely, without two or more parties, communication cannot take place. Interpersonal communication takes place on a personal and professional level. During interpersonal communication, the people present the agenda, theme, and communication style before they start (Eleena, 2015). For example, on a professional level, the parties listen to the different authors and may share their opinions at the end of the session. This model allows a smooth flow of information, and the audience remains active and interested.
An interpersonal relationship thrives on establishing close connections with people and maintaining long-lasting forming relationships (TEDxSBU, 2015). One party can express himself while the other listens keenly and interprets, predicts, and explains the other person's words, actions, and behaviours. Interpersonal communication allows the author to lead the conversation based on his understanding of the topic in question. Furthermore, interpersonal communication has the capacity and capability to go beyond topics, rules set by the social norms to express themselves fully. Additionally, the author of the communication gives everyone the chance to express his thoughts, experiences, benefits, and inconveniences these conversations to have in his/her life.
