The Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA) has taught us the need to create a system that caters to the needs of the patients. There have been new practices and approaches that have been introduced to us during practicum and I intend to reflect on them to ensure I can deliver quality medical healthcare when called upon.
One of the new approaches is infection control where the nurses should ensure that they protect themselves and their patients during procedures. The hospital environment needs to be clean and employees wear protective gear. Measuring blood pressure before treatment is crucial as it gives doctors more information. Nurses are therefore advised to always measure blood pressure, especially in children. Children, however, need to get their pressure measured noninvasively unlike in adults. These are some approaches to keep an eye on when providing medical services. CITATION Sto17 \l 1033 (Storr, et al., 2017)

This means that the government comes up with policies that control all these departments that offer medical services to the general public. This is all in the hopes that the best medical care will be administered to the people and prevent opportunistic corporations and insurance companies from taking advantage of them
There are certainly ethical considerations in practicing medicine that enables an individual to put the interests of the patient first. The lessons from practicum have enabled me to reassess myself and it has enabled me to feel confident when making decisions and dealing with possible dilemmas I might encounter. The ethical consideration ensures that a medical practitioner treats the patients with respect and be committed to their wellbeing. CITATION Sti13 \l 1033 (Stichler, 2013) The safety of the patient is important thus they need to give consent for procedures and have their privacy and confidential information secure.
In today’s society, there has been an increase in public health concerns. There is a lot of public health right now which has put a lot of pressure on the CDC's National Center for Injury Prevention and Control to ensure that they are working to provide prevention strategies.CITATION bec16 \l 1033 (Beckers Hospital, 2016) These problems include nutrition, accidents, alcohol and tobacco abuse, heart diseases and prescription drugs overdos...
