Students should consider the clinical environment in which they are currently employed or have recently worked. The capstone project topic can be a clinical practice problem, an organizational issue, a leadership or quality improvement initiative, or an unmet educational need specific to a patient population or community. The student may also choose to work with an interprofessional collaborative team.
Students should select a topic that aligns to their area of interest as well as the clinical practice setting in which practice hours are completed.

There is a strong connection between mental health and homelessness that heavily impacts a significant population in contemporary society. Many researchers conduct different studies to establish unique interventions to understand the connection between mental health and homelessness (Choi et al., 2021). Homelessness may lead to various antisocial activities, impacting mental stability and growth (Moorkath et al., 2018). Mental illness may also jeopardize an individual's work stability affecting the income and leading to homelessness. The change proposal focuses on mental health and homelessness and the necessary strategies to adequately address the problem.
The Context
The context in which mental health and homelessness can be observed is societal, especially in low-income settings in the United States. It is easy to associate mental health and homelessness in society since it affects different individuals depending on the society (Moulin et al., 2018). It is also easy to note the vital mental characteristics resulting from homelessness at the societal level and establish necessary interventions at the societal level by relying on the local leaders.
A Description of the Problem
Mental health and homelessness adversely impact individuals in society. It refers to a health issue affecting one's feelings, thoughts, behavior (Bonfine et al., 2020). Mental illness also limits how an individual interacts in society. Homelessness refers to lacking adequate, regular, and fixed residence. Homeless individuals experience different mental issues such as depression and psychiatric disorders. Effect of the Problem

It may also impact special populations such as pregnant women who may have PTSD in their early delivery time. According to Smartt et al. (2019), pregnant women who undergo evictions from residential areas show increased cases of traumatic stress. Also, other groups such as adolescents undergo substance abuse and other antisocial behaviors in society. Therefore, the adverse effects of mental illness and homelessness are detrimental to society.
