Musculoskeletal dysfunctions are afflictions and diseases that are affected the bones, muscles, and joints. These diseases affect the human body movement. The most common musculoskeletal disorders include osteoarthritis, tendinitis, and fibromyalgia. Metabolic dysfunctions are conditions that occur when there is abnormal production of chemicals in the body resulting in disrupting body metabolic process. Some of these conditions include high blood pressure, production of excess cholesterol, and high blood sugar. Multisystem health dysfunctions are diseases that affect more than one body system. These diseases include Hamartomas, Kawasaki disease, Albinism, Multimorbidity, and Amyloidosis.
The musculoskeletal diseases result in persistent pain, swelling, and stiff joints in the musculoskeletal areas such as the legs, hips, back, shoulders, and neck. Also, the patient may experience limitations of movement, muscle fatigue and weakness, and sensory loss (Cherney, 2018). Musculoskeletal disorders may result in a reduction in participation in social roles and physical activities. These disorders may also lead to the development of other chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis, persistent pains in the back and neck, osteoporosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. The metabolic dysfunctions on the other end include Niemann-Pick, Gaucher disease, and Krabbe disease. Niemann-Pick is the production of excess fat within the cells. The disease has no cure and is deadly.
Gaucher disease is a disease which leads to enlargement of the spleen and liver. Some other complications related to Gaucher disease include abdominal complaints, blood disorders, and skeletal disorders. Abdominal complaints are a result of the drastic enlargement of the liver and spleen, which exert pressure on the abdomen hence the pains.
