Summary
Medication error refers to any failure in the treatment process that might affect the health of the patient. The error can occur as a result of the patients or the medical practitioner's fault. In the recent past, the topic has been an issue of discussion due to the increased number of medication errors that occur in hospitals. A medication error could worsen the condition of the patient, result in other medical conditions, or lead to death. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that such errors are prevented as much as possible. I am interested in this topic because I believe that educating patients and medical practitioners on the importance of preventing medication errors can result in a safe hospital environment. Patients need to be treated in an environment with minimal risk of medication errors that could negatively affect their health. I have gathered various credible sources that will help me analyze the issue of medication error in the hospital and create a solution to how it can be eradicated or prevented.
