Legal and Ethics Students Name Institutional Affiliation Most of the developing countries are changing from the traditional method of manual record keeping system into an electronic health record (EHR) (McBride, Tietze, Robichaux, Stokes & Weber, 2018). The EHR is known to be cost-effective, and it improves the quality of healthcare accorded to patients. However, technology brings out some hazards which result in a questioning of the security of the data. Hospitals have the obligation of ensuring that a third party does not access a patient's medical information. This is made possible through the use of strong passwords for any of the employees that are allowed to access the EHR.
