Every state in the US has formulated regulations and policies to govern and regulate nursing or the practice of caregiving. All laws delineated to regulate the nursing practice in a state are outlined in the nursing rulebook referred to as the Nursing Practice Act. On the other hand, the American Nurses Association (ANA) strives to improve the nursing profession and change the nature of healthcare in the United States. One of the main ways ANA attains its objectives is by advocating on behalf of registered nurses at both state and federal levels and overseeing the process through which health-related policies are introduced and implemented (Camicia et al., 2013). Introduced on 15th, 2021, the HR331 - Nurses CARE Act of 2021 Nurses Certification And Recognition of Experience Act of 2021 intended to address the issues of nurse shortage in long-term care that have been immensely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
