In healthcare, change is inevitable. The disease-based care focuses more on finding a cure for diseases by investing in medicine and drug development rather than on the well-being of society. Thus, in 2010, the Institute of Medicine (IOM), and The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), emphasized the need to shift from disease-oriented care to well-being and preventative care (Sullivan, 2018). This mode of care would increase the quality of life and care, reduce the cost of treating chronic diseases and identify the risk of a disease at an appropriate time. The well-being treatment involves educating nurses, physicians, and primary caregivers of the patients.
