Health care in the United States has occasionally been termed as a costly affair, despite the attenuation of spending in the recent past. The relationship between the cost associated with health and quality transferred in the process is also cloudy. For example, intensity can be used to describe the quality achieved through concentration regarding tests that are diagnostic, the particular number of involved procedures, any hospitalization and the respective physician checks offered to the patient. In retrospect of the relationship between the two, for every increased number of intensity as per the above measure, the financial demand is higher (Berwick, 2008). It is also reminiscent of the increased spending by the patient to obtain the value for money especially with the standards set. The most important facet is the outcome as experienced by the patient. Any positive sign of care delivered limits the effect of the cost as opposed to prolonged illness or visits to the medical facilities. The National Coalition on Health Care is a public agency in the United States, while a private one is represented by research and quality agency under health care (Finkelman and Kenner, 2006). They are both tasked with separate roles in the addresses of cost and quality in the country. The public agency ensures that the cost delivered is adequate without any form of bias or favor to any patient, as well as checking on the insurance availability. The private agency deals with the standards delivered by the respective organizations in the country.
There are various initiatives that are in use, as well as those projected to advance the quality of health care while assuring of controlling the costs. There is the reduction of avoidable, ineffective and repeat use of services across all medical facilities when the health care and measures are administered to the patients (Mitchell, Fisher, Hastings, Silverman, & Wallen, 2010).
