Vulnerable Populations
In this unjust society, many people struggle to survive to owe to the inability to anticipate and recuperate from the aftermaths of enormous disasters such as calamity and the environmental and health emergencies that it brings (World Health Organization, 2002). These people belong to the vulnerable population and include pregnant women, neonates, children, fetuses, detainees, differently-abled people such as those with physical barriers, marginalized, institutionalized, chronically ill patients, immunocompromised, malnourished, etc. (Vohora, 2018). The Lack of Advocacy in Vulnerable Populations
These people cannot advocate for themselves due to existing hindrances such as government policies that prevent them to access health and social services. Also, financial incapability hinders them to buy their necessities such as clothes, water, medicines, and food, and to afford adequate housing. All of these contribute greatly to their s...
