Medical coding is very significant in the medical field since it helps healthcare providers to translate medical reports. In this case, medical codes are recorded and stored electronically stating the procedure and medication administered to every patient. Medical coding comprises terminologies in the procedure, disease classification, and the coding system. The three entities structure the query process in the medical field. Medical coding has helped most healthcare facilities solve the most complex health problems globally, especially the Covid-19 pandemic period. Clinician query can be described as a communication channel to clarify health documents from patients in hospitals. The query process is vital in the healthcare sector since it facilitates easy and effective hospital diagnosis and treatment processes. The objective of this paper is to determine the factors considered in managing an effective query process.
An effective query process observes factors such as clarity, compliance, and clinical indicators (Weed, 2021). As discussed, the query process is a communication vehicle that health care providers use to clarify and document diseases and conditions in hospitals. Managing an effective query process would require to have extensive knowledge. Firstly, clinicians should provide concise information, whereby the patient is documented not to have underlying problems. According to AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) (2019), an effective query process should reflect diagnostic indicators. Query process paper should mention all the indicators in every diagnosis. Additionally, all the documentation should be highlighted in the query paper.
