Exercise, Cardiovascular and Respiratory Systems, and Internal Balance
The human body comprises the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. The central nervous system controls all these systems. Muscles, veins, arteries, bones, ligaments, and others allow the human body to work, comprehend, exercise, and much more (Holzapfel & Ogden, 2003). A cardiovascular system is a combination of the cardiac and circulatory systems. These systems include four heart chambers, multiple veins, arteries, and capillaries that allow oxygenated and deoxygenated blood flow. The respiratory system has features like the pharynx, trachea, larynx, small and large bronchioles, and lungs (Tortora & Grabowski, 1996). Besides, it helps oxygen enter the body and removes waste products (gasses).
In the human body, both the cardiovascular and respiratory systems work together to supply oxygen and other substances to body tissues; and remove carbon dioxide from the body. Both systems work in co-dependency on each other; therefore, it is necessary to understand both systems’ anatomy, physiology, and primary and minor functions.
The respiratory system supplies blood oxygen and removes carbon dioxide. This blood reaches the heart, where oxygenation occurs, and then the heart distributes oxygen to other body organs (Tortora & Grabowski, 1996). If any of these systems collapse, the other system will try to compensate; therefore, both methods depend entirely on each other.
Exercise imposes excess stress on the human body as muscles’ demand for oxygen is elevated as they contract during exercise. Therefore, increased hea...
