A Blame-Free Culture
My current workplace has a safety or blame-free culture. Managers and supervisors do not blame their subordinates when mistakes occur in daily operations. For example, two months ago, there was a problem in the production process, which adversely affected the quality of products. When an employee realized the issue, he reported it to the management, and it was addressed without conflicts. As such, my workplace has a conducive environment where workers feel that it is their responsibility to report a problem since they will not be blamed, but instead, the right solution would be implemented.
The most effective way to enhance or promote a culture of safety in the workplace is through the training and education of employees. Specifically, safety behavior has a positive correlation with safety culture (Asamani, 2020). Workers should be trained on how to handle machinery and the way they should respond to problems when they occur.
