Besides, parents have to commit themselves to enlighten their children on effective ways of managing their weight. Importantly, diagnostic tests can help in assessing if or not a child receives adequate nutrition or is at risk of health issues. The case study of the underweight 12 years Hispanic girl is an appropriate example of the prevailing health concerns. As a healthcare provider, I can identify various health issues and risks that make the child vulnerable to other illnesses. It is equally important for the parents to gather relevant information on the child’s development and underlying sensitivity issues. As a result, it can be convenient to formulate strategies of encouraging the child victim and the other family members on ways of attaining a healthy weight. Underweight adults and children encounter different forms of health concerns that can have an impact on their lifespan and health. In the case of the Hispanic girl, it is likely that poor nutrition was the major concern that had a devastating impact on her overall growth and development. As a result, the girl was vulnerable to heart attack and inability to fight other related infections. Furthermore, the victim suffered from impaired thinking and poor concentration as a result of poor nutrition. Moreover, the Hispanic girl’s parents were underweight possibly because of poor nutrition practices. Therefore, it is likely that the family lived in poor economic status and could not afford to purchase healthy foods. Besides, the family is likely to suffer from genetic illnesses that affect their digestive and endocrine systems.
