1. If we understand concepts of the nursing process and research better than can't we deliver better care? Don't we also educate and use informatics in nursing? What is one difference that really sticks out to you?
Having a thorough understanding of the nursing practice will indeed help nurses in delivering better services. However, for the services to be streamlined and efficiency improved, information technology needs to be adopted and incorporated into the nursing practice.
One thing that always sticks out to me is the fact that medication errors have been on the rise despite the insistence on adherence to the universal standards of nursing practice. The number of deaths, as well as complications that arise as a result of medication errors, have been on a steady increase, and the impact has been tremendous.
