The labeling and inclusion of warning statements are regulatory requirements for tobacco companies by federal policy. The aimed effort is to create awareness of the dangers and health risks involved in consuming harmful (Ophir et al., 2019). Examples of these warnings include distracting images or graphics of affected lungs intended to inform threats associated with smoking behaviors.
On the contrary, I feel these federal regulations on tobacco companies are not as effective as intended. Despite the robust evidence of the dangers involved in smoking, relatively few users know the extent of potential risks. Most smokers think they can avoid the problems warned before escalating to significant issues. In that case, the addictiveness nature of tobacco gets underestimated, and warning signs serve less purpose. For instance, based on an experience from a close friend who is now in a rehabilitation program, she admits to ignoring the labels and warning statements in packaging, citing that they are obvious facts but can be avoided if someone stops...
