Introduction
A nurse has to conduct health assessments and set up their clinical judgment skills in their medical profession. Health assessment is learning through invaluable practice sessions, and it’s crucial in determining a patient’s health issues and caring needs. It helps the nurse design a critical care plan and determines the necessary interventions (Dorell et al. 2016, p.2). The more accurate the assessment obtained, the better outcomes will be accepted, and therefore, the quality of patient care will be enhanced. This paper will examine a case study that will help assess the nurse’s evaluation of the patients’ needs and their clinical judgment skills.
The Case Study
The case study involves a nurse-patient, and the patient family, where the nurse comes into a conflicting situation between his patient and the family. The nurse asks the patient to describe their medical condition, and the patient responds in agony and pain and wants to quit with the current treatment. The family member (the client’s daughter) insists on continuing the chemotherapy as this is the best option for the patient. The nurse is in a conflicting position to use his medical judgment skills to make the right decision.
My Response to the situation
