Grey's anatomy is a television drama series that talks about various medical disorder treatments and practices. In movie's Season 4, Episode 16: we see a teenager Andrew having fun with his friends at a site where construction has been undertaken. In an effort to impress his girlfriend Lola, he goes ahead to lie in wet cement. He gets trapped in the concrete as the cement begins to dry. He is transported by two young boys to the Seattle Grace Hospital where they arrive after four hours. The boys say they don’t know him. The surgical team begins to work by banging off and pulling the concrete off his body piece by piece. They do this while they keep giving him glucose insulin and administer other intravenous fluids. These surgeons believe the cement is draining water from his body rendering him susceptible to alkali which burns the skin. The poisonous chemicals discharged from the cement get absorbed and as it dries it causes a compartment syndrome which is a compression of the nerves, blood vessels and muscles in a closed space impairing the flow of blood and the damage of muscles.
These doctors decide to put vinegar on Andrew's skin, in an attempt to counter the effect of the alkali. They then perform a fasciotomy on his leg by cutting the connective tissue to ease the pulmonary hypertension posed by the concrete on the muscle. When they remove the last piece of dry concrete from his stomach, he goes into a shock. The surgeons think the shock has been caused by the toxins, but Dr. Yang realizes that his low blood pressure and the weakened conditions have been cause...
