The improvements follow a vision of transforming healthcare into a high-performance system, improving the cost and lowering costs. Consequently, hospitals have implemented nursing integrations such as evidence-based practice and the quadruple aim. This essay analyses the connection between the two nursing integrations and how they impact patient experience, population health, costs, and healthcare providers' work life.
Evidence-based practice involves the integration of research evidence, clinical expertise and a patient's preferences. The procedure encourages the nurses to uphold a problem-solving approach in their clinical practice, consequently providing individualized patient care. Nurses are capable of determining a practical course of action by following these five steps. Identifying a problem, gathering the evidence, and analyzing the evidence are the main evidence-based practice processes. The application of EBP in nursing practice offers better patient outcomes, consequently reducing the demand and over-reliance on hospital resources.
On the other hand, the Quadruple Aims modelled after three overarching goals: Improving the patient experience of care (including quality and satisfaction), improving populations' health, and reducing the per capita cost of health care.
