The relationship between childhood poverty and health wellbeing is better understood when the term poverty is defined based on its impact on one’s capability and as a cause for deprivation. Wise (2016), in his article reiterated the fact that poverty leads to the deprivation of basic nutritive components necessary for healthy living. From a capability perspective, Wise (2016) argues that poverty impedes human’s capacity to undertake significant developmental processes such as adaptation as well developing social and technical capabilities.
