Practicum Activities Reflection:
Expecting the unexpected becomes the norm when working in a health setting since recovering patients can turn for the worst in a short period. Quick action can thus save the lives of patients in instances where their vitals start spiking. Therefore, understanding the underlying cause of any change in the status of the patient can ensure the administration of a correct intervention. Learning from such experiences improves the ability of medical professionals to anticipate, identify, and isolate such issues in time.
Furthermore, learning to cope with the continuous loss of patient life has a significant impact on an individual. Losing a patient despite the best efforts to save them weighs heavily, especially when the hopes of recovery were high. Therefore, support from team members enables cooperation both in good and bad times and provides the motivation required to continue working tirelessly under such situations.
Application of Leadership:
Firstly, integrity plays an essential role in my professional life in the medical industry. Being true to myself ensures that I can make decisions in the best interests of others under my care. This is demonstrated by my dedication to always provide care to the best of my abilities without any compromise. The ability to continually provide the best possible aid without judging comes handy when attending to patients. Compassionate care ensures that all patients receive treatment since I can understand the situation that the patients are in hence offering my assistance to relieve such pain and suffering.

My decision to join the profession was based on my willingness to work in helping others overcome their medical challenges hence my desire to work hard to overcome challenges.
