Collaboration is one of the main features of developing highly refined evidence based practices (Engelke & Marshburn, 2006). As a nurse, one is able to share the information that they have with the rest of the team and assist with decision making processes (Springer, Corbet & Davis, 2006). There are two fronts that nurses can impact the element of collaboration, on the academics side and the evidence based practices of an interdisciplinary team. Being able to generate new knowledge that can assist in refining the already available information is the key to improving health care. More importantly is the ability to refine the available information use and creating improved health care delivery system (Springer, Corbet & Davis, 2006).
It is important to note some of the changes that have to be made to the health care practices require the input of the other professionals in the interdisciplinary context.
