The Rationale for the Unit Topic Selection
Prekindergarten pupils are imaginative, playful, and love interacting with their peers the most. The unit topic is appropriate for their age because it allows them to show their creativity through the chosen colors and objects. Furthermore, the activity will help them interact with their peers and better understand their peers’ likes and dislikes.
Significance of the Topic
The unit topic shall discuss colors in the form of objects and rationalization on selecting the top three colors for the pupils. The activity is covered by the visual art field, which is significant in developing the art space where the pupils are currently living. The topic introduces the pupils to the Euclidian space, which engraves geometry to the imagination and intellect of the pupils via two- and three-dimensional shapes. The presentation of visual arts supports the development of visual intellect, which enhances analytical skills based on spatial relationships, overlapping, and distance. However, in this case, the introduction only encompasses the basics of the mentioned aspects (Zupancic et al., 2015).
Furthermore, the unit topic shall facilitate the pupils’ critical thinking skills by explaining the reason for their choices.
