The beer market has been dwindling in the last few years and specifically customers between the ages 15 and 35. This is relative to the fact that most of them are opting for the stronger drinks. With the right strategies, the customers between the age 15 and 35 can be encouraged to buy Heineken beer products. To better target this generation of customers, there are three main strategies that the company will have to employ; advanced online advertising through enhanced search algorithms, using the social media platforms to increase their visibility and lastly introducing a premium brand with much higher alcohol content. These will boost the chances of the company rising through the current challenge and more importantly increase sales through enhanced visibility in the market (Starta, 2015).
These are objectives that are crucial to the efforts of increasing the brand visibility to a generation that spends most of its time online. It is important to note that, this is a generation that uses the internet more than they use the traditional media platforms such as print and television. As such, the efforts have to be very specific to effectively reach a generation that is also tech savvy (University of Southern California, 2018). Using the social media platforms, for example, is the surest ways to get to this generation (Starta, 2015). This is a generation that is most of the time online whether working or for leisure, the majority will interact with the internet several times in the day, with some working solely online (University of Southern California, 2018). At the same time, there is a trend where a majority in this market segment now prefer stronger drinks over light beer. For the company to establish itself as a strong brand, there is need to develop a strong quality beer product that is also going to be a premium product.
