The organization was formed following the merger between Samaritan health system and Lutheran health system in 1999. It employs about 25,000 individuals and basic medical and emergency services in addition to a variety of specialized services such as heart care, bone marrow transplant and rehabilitation services. The organization is a leading researcher that targets most serious medical conditions such as spinal injuries and Alzheimer’s disease.
