Bribery is one of the typical words used in society nowadays. This term often connotes and goes hand in hand with corruption. It has been commonly used and done to the point that every person turns a blind eye to it. Bribery refers to an act of exchanging cash or goods with a favor in return. This act often took place in order to get things done faster or by illegal means. Most of us oppose this idea, however, we all have experienced bribery in different ways.
One can easily find bribery around us. It is prevalent whether in small things or in big things. Bribery can be seen in instances such as when enrolling in a school with a good reputation. A parent would be willing to offer any kind of bribery just to admit their children to that school. When going to an exclusive club, some people would bribe the person-in-charge at the entrance to let them inside. Bribery offers no exceptions even when under the law. When a person violates the law or commits a crime, the police or the officer-in-charge can be bribed so that the person can get away with it. These law enforcement officers would accept the bribes offered to them due to greediness and sometimes, fear.
Most aspects of our lives can be touched by bribery. Even a little child at home can be bribed with something sweet such as chocolates, cookies, or ice cream in exchange for that thing that they’re trying to hold on to or for something that their p...
