The Widening Gap Between the Very Rich and the Rest of the World Population
When I think about the widening gap between the very wealthy individuals and the rest of the world population, I get shocked. For sure, something should be done to reverse this trend. The middle class has been shrinking, meaning that many people do not have enough to lead comfortable lives since the job opportunities for young and less-skilled individuals are plummeting (“Why the Middle Class Is Shrinking,” 2015). The rapid growth of technology makes employers search for highly skilled and talented people, leaving the rest without jobs. Moreover, the wealthier are getting richer since they have the resources to invest in upcoming inventions.
Specifically, everyone has the right to pursue things that can make one very rich. But there should be a cap on this to reduce the broadening gap between the very wealthy and the rest of the population. During the Covid-19 pandemic, it was evident that many individuals who lost their jobs were unable to meet their daily needs. The continued operation disruption led to increased job losses since some companies shut down their operations (Wealth Management Top Trends, 2022).
