In that light, Toyota Motor Corporation cannot achieve its objectives without addressing existing and upcoming performance issues that might adversely affect the quality of its products. Toyota’s Performance Issues that can be Solved Through Effective Training
Although Toyota is a renowned automobile company worldwide, performance issues have contributed to product recalls and doubts among its customers. Specifically, its primary aim is to attract many clients and retain them by offering high-quality products and services. However, product recalls reveal problems in the firm’s manufacturing process. Since 1992, Toyota has had the most vehicle recalls to address issues that are found after the sale of different models of its cars (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, n.d.). Through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), individuals can use a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to check whether a specific Toyota car model needs to be repaired. However, despite this website helping Toyota customers to know whether there is a product recall, the company should try to address the quality issues of its vehicles before releasing them for sale. As a result, effective training of employees can remedy this problem once and for all and help Toyota reclaim its high reputation for manufacturing high-valued cars for distinctive customer segments.
Toyota should ask itself one primary question, what causes product failures and recalls? The answer to this question will trace back to human resource problems. They include poor supervision and training, employee engagement, corporate culture, and weak management structure. For example, in the USA, Toyota recalled about 227,400 Camry vehicles, 2018-2019 model (Toyota Newsroom, 2021). These cars had a power brake assist that helped drivers decelerate once the brake pedal was depressed.
