Introduction
Target market is the prospective group of customers to whom a business aims to sell their products. Target marketing involves a particular focus on the attributes of the target market to know which products and methods would be more appealing to the customer. This enables a company to focus its marketing efforts to one segment that is more suited to buy the product. This paper discusses the target marketing approach adopted by Kool-Aid.
* TikTok and Cameo are video-based social media platforms that are becoming popular for business marketing. The main reason why Kraft Heinz opted to turn to TikTok and Cameo to promote Kool-Aid is because of the popularity of the platforms with the younger generation (Gen Z). It is the December holidays, and the children are from school, which means that they will be accessing the platforms since most Gen Z is still in high school and college. The approach to use the video platforms was to capture their target market, which is the children at holidays. Videos are a very interactive form of advertising, especially if it is user-generated like the case of TikTok. The association with celebrities is also an instrumental marketing stance, especially with the young generation which Cameo offers.
* Millennials refer to the generation that was born between 1981 and 1994. Their social media use does not very different from that of Gen Z they also grew in the digital era.
