Two Bit History (2019) did in-depth research about the strategic management at Southwest Airlines and discovered quite some strategic decisions that have enabled the company to thrive in the competitive airline industry. According to Two Bit History (2019), the success of Southwest Airlines can be attributed to a number of factors that can be seen as simplicity at its best. The target customers for Southwest Airlines are mainly domestic passengers. I find it interesting that the company also has maintained a single model of airplanes to harness many benefits, including parts compatibility, cut on training, and maintenance costs, among others.
