A few decades ago, the internet constituted an extravagant and suspicious thing ever to hit society. It remained one of the significant unregulated experiments in the late twentieth century. Today, humans are on the verge of a novel technological revolution after the internet breakthrough – blockchain. Blockchain could emerge as an increasingly successful social and economic event in society via electronic commerce and financial systems if implemented appropriately. The real promise is the opportunities that blockchain would create prosperity for our community. The possibilities include but are not limited to empowering individuals to own their data and ascertaining that content creators such as music artists control their intellectual properties and are fairly remunerated (Tapscott, 2016).
