What can you find out about the leadership style of the chief executive officer? How would you characterize his/her leadership style? (Coca-cola Company)
The Coca Cola Company is headed by a respectable man by the name James Quincey. The man employs a leadership style that continues to propel the company further and above its competition. One thing that Quincey does best is to allow his employees to innovate which leads the company towards different phases of change. Jacobsen (2018) writes that Quincey focuses on “inclusion, empowerment, and accountability.” Quincey says that he allows his “leadership team and all employees to the license to make decisions.” However, they also have to be accountable for the outcome. When you decide to share an idea, one has to be able to be accountable for what comes next. In empowering the organization to innovate and also make mistakes at the same time, Quincey has made it possible for the company to enhance its performance.
Quincey’s leadership style can be characterized as transformational because he encourages innovation and motivates employees to create change. In fostering a culture where employees can innovate, Quincey has been able to also create a culture of ownership. Employees in the company share in the successes as well as the losses of the company. What this does is grow the confidence of the employees as they seek to contribute to the company’s growth. Additionally, employees are able to move from a mindset that only serves and gratifies themselves to an attitude that seeks to build or innovate for the common good. Instances of cooperation will also increase as employees look for ways to contribute and not for ways to individually grow. In the end, the company benefits as its working environment continues to be an asset in the long-run.

Yes. The leadership style Quincey adopted does match the situation confronting the organization. Coca Cola is in an industry where competition is stiff.
