Personality and Motivation: Analyze a Personality

Essay Instructions:

Demonstrate your understanding of personality and motivation and your critical thinking and writing skills by synthesizing theories of personality and motivation as covered in your textbook readings this week. Include any theories you have discovered in your own personality and motivation research efforts. Base your response to this assignment on the personality of somebody with whom you have direct experience in the workplace—it could be a peer, a manager, a subordinate, or even yourself.
Describe the person's personality broadly (either as described by the “Big Five” model, or by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator from Chapter 9 of your textbook).
Given what you know of the personality under examination, explain which theory or theories of motivation would be most effective for a manager to use when trying to help this individual achieve her or his full potential at work. Describe the process of determination and the theory or theories you eventually recommend, and explain how the manager can use the tenets of that theory or those theories as applied to the person who serves as your case study.
Your well-written paper should meet the following requirements:
3-4 pages in length in addition to the title page and reference page
Formatted according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements
Cite a minimum of two scholarly sources, at least one of which is not provided in, or linked from, the course. The CSU-Global Library is a great place to find scholarly sources!
Write clearly and logically, as you will be graded on content, analysis, and your adherence to the tenets of good academic writing, which should be succinct where possible while also exploring the topics appropriately. Remember that you can always improve your work by providing support from outside scholarly sources, which both help to bolster your own assertions and supplement your ideas.

Personality and Motivation
John is my colleague in our department. He is such a nice person to work with and he is that kind of person you could always like to work with. The five factor model proves to be the most appropriate model in analyzing his personality.
Extraversion
John is the kind of person who you can meet on the first day and you may think you have known him for a very long time. I proved this when I was posted to his department, on the first day we talked a lot and he did not bother asking me my name, we talked like we had been knowing each other. He is ready to talk with everybody that he meets, he greets me every morning when we meet at our work place and he is the first person I think of when I need someone to help me.
Agreeableness
John usually says he finds it very difficult to work on his own because of his talkative nature at one point he said, “I don’t know what will happen to me if I get posted to a position where I sit alone in an office”. He believes in team spirit and is very cooperative in our team. Unlike others he is easy going and with no complications.
Conscientiousness
When we are set to work on any program John is very conscious with the deadlines and the set goals. Unlike several other team members he always delivers his tasks on time and this has helped the team to focus on delivering in time. He is always disturbed and motivated to work extra hours to meet the deadlines and achieve the goals within the given schedules.
Emotional stability
John is a very calm person, whenever he is wronged he chooses to keep quiet and not talk to you but that will be over within a short period of time. When he is over it he will eventually tell you that you wronged him. He does not believe in opposing others people’s views and doesn’t like conflicts, he tries to avoid it as much as possible by keeping quiet when necessary.
Openness to experience
John has five years’ experience working with the organization and has been very resourceful in sorting out not only technical but also conflict resolution within the team. He is very imaginative and solves problems critically after analyzing them and comes with the most appropriate solution. He has been very resourceful in our department especially when we are assigned complex tasks that we have no clear way of h...
