This assessment explores the significance of business models for sustainability and the opportunity for business model innovation in substantially improving sustainability performance. Working with your group you will analyse one organisation according to the UTS phase model (as in assessment 1) and then develop at least three recommendations based on adapted or new business models (using resources provided and including those listed below) which have the potential to substantially improve the organisation’s social and ecological performance in the context of the organisation’s most material impacts.

It is essential for companies to be sustainable in society and ecologically, recognizing that the community, investors, employees, and customers play a huge role in their existence. The UTS phase model is a tool for corporates to access their sustainability. Rejection, non-responsiveness compliance, efficiency, strategic proactivity, and sustainable organization are its stages. The rejection stage is perceived to be value diminishers, and the compliance stage is value conservators. The organization should always target to operate at sustainable dimensions.
