Part A. Stress Management
Stress is one of the biggest drawbacks in a work environment where efficiency is of the top notch priority. It may develop from different sources. Some may emanate from the work environment itself of from personal issues in life or back at home. A stressful individual always appears to be thoughtful (Lazarus, 2006). In most cases, they never concentrate on what they are supposed to be doing. It is, therefore, a point of concern for an organization to take preventive measures of doing away with the employee stress. Stress management is a social responsibility of a business empire that will help improve the employee's health. The paper will take a cognitive overview of some of the approaches enforced to eliminate stress in a workplace. They will fall in the category of organizational and personal initiatives.
An organization can take some steps to reduce stress issues among the employees. First and foremost is job redesign. It entails shifting the job description of a particular customer into more specific tasks that will be enjoyable to manage. Harley was an assistant marketing manager in a small online marketing firm. Her biggest stress was that whenever she makes a directive, most of her equals would undermine her ideas. She had a low self-esteem and lacked the authority of a manager. After her complaint, the board explained to her the objectives of the business and made her preside over specific items in marketing. Secondly, the organization can adopt the practice of goal setting as a way of reducing employee stress (Schaufelli& Bakker, 2004). Part-time workers of the employees working on shift basis might have limited information on the needs of the company. The company can point out the day's goal so that it acts as a constant reminder of the target to be met in the day. The employees will not have the stress of worrying about what they have or have not done.
Personally, an individual may employ some measures to help him do away with his stress. One, physical exercises help in curbing stress. My friend Edgar was weary of relationship issues.
